Beech Behaviour Referrals
Providing behavioural support for cats and dogs
For a positive bond
For a positive bond
Beech Behaviour Referrals offer personalised owner support for cats and dogs needing behavioural assistance.
We offer face-to-face and online consultations, and work on both an owner-instigated, and referral basis. This means that for pre-consultation support, and generalised behaviour/training support, you can contact us directly and we can discuss the best option for you, and your pet.
For more severe/clinical behaviour concerns, we work by veterinary referral. This means if your vet determines your pet's concerns may be caused by an underlying psychological issue, and all possible medical causes for the behaviour have been excluded, your vet may wish to refer you for more specific and intense behavioural therapy. This can be initiated by your vet using the form above (Vet Referral).
At Beech Behaviour Referrals we aim to provide a positive and supportive service for you, and your pet. As such, we only use a positive reinforcement based approach.
We do not support or encourage the use of aversive methods, for example shock collars, choke chains, hitting, or rattle tools.
All consultations can be arranged at a mutually agreeable time.
Online consultations are conducted using Google Meet and will require a phone/laptop with a camera, microphone, and internet capabilities.
Face-to-Face consultations are usually conducted in your own home, or at a location convenient to you. Seeing your pet in their home environment can provide helpful insights into why some of their behaviours may be occurring. However, we understand that this is not always suitable, and some animals may become more distressed by our presence.
Travel within 40 miles of Oldham (Greater Manchester) is included in the consultation price. Outside of 40 miles can be arranged at an additional cost. Please see 'Services' for more information.
All meetings are arranged via email or phone first, so your individual requirements can be discussed in more detail.
At Beech Behaviour Referrals we want to create a safe space for you and your pet to feel at ease. We aim to provide a professional service, with a human approach (and a childish sense of humour where appropriate). This is a no-judgement zone where you and your pet will be treated with respect and kindness.
However, we have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse. We understand these times can be frustrating and upsetting, and we know there will be times when you may cry, shout, or swear (we're all only human), but we will not tolerate abuse to staff in any form.
